The company said the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is carrying out an investigation of the company regarding its tender activities.
 
Kier said the OFT has written to the company in an ongoing revier of tender activity started in 2004.
 
The OFT’s concerns with Kier are with Kier Regional Limited’s conduct in respect of 20 tenders submitted between 2000 and 2005.
 
The company said: “These tenders represent a very small proportion of the bidding activity of Kier Regional during the period.
 
“Kier is cooperating with the OFT in its investigation.”
