Kenmore Birmingham office plan gets go ahead E-mail

Plans to build the tallest office tower outside London have received planning permission by Birmingham City Council.

Kenmore Property Group has recieved planning permission for the £230m redevelopment of the No. 1 Snow Hill Plaza in Birmingham city centre.  

The scheme, designed by architects, Hamiltons,will comprise 430,000 sq ft of offices, 16,000 sq ft leisure and retail space as well as 175 car parking spaces.

The scheme will also include a 29-storey tower, the largest in the UK outside London, at its highest point at the north. At the south the tower reaches 13 storeys.

Construction works are expected to commence in 2009 with completion anticipated for 2011.
