Workers at JCB are to be balloted on whether to accept a shorter working week, in a move to save further job losses.
The Staffordshire firm has 11 factories across the UK. The GMB union, told the BBC that because of the current construction industry climate, a reduction in work hours is required, or up to 500 jobs could be lost. A spokesman for JCB said a ballot is expected next week after holding talks with the union. |
