A consortium which includes building services group Interserve and architects Anshen + Allen, has been named as preferred bidder for a 30 year PFI hospital contract in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.
The Northern Ireland Health Group, a consortium which also includes Spanish firm FCC Construcciones, P Elliott and Allied Irish Bank, has been awarded the contract by the Western Health and Social Care Trust. The contract for the 315-bed acute hospital is worth more than £300m in construction and facilities management services. Construction work at the 23ha greenfield site at Wolf Lough, north of Enniskillen, will be carried out by FCC and Elliott. Work is expected to begin next year with completion planned for 2012. The Enniskillen hospital will be the first in Northern Ireland to have 100% single-patient bedrooms. |
