Glasgow City Council has given planning consent for the construction of a 26 storey hotel on Argyle Street in the city centre. The designs drawn up by Ian Simpson Architects were submitted on behalf of developer Progress Property. The 32,000 sq m glass-fronted tower in Argyle Street will include a new 158 bedrooms, Six Star Deluxe International Hotel and an adjoining block of 68 serviced apartments. City council planning officials described the project as a "cutting edge, landmark development" which would act as a gateway to the redeveloped Broomielaw district. |
