House prices fall by further 1% E-mail

Asking prices for homes in England and Wales fell another 1% in September, a survey has found.

House prices are now 3.3% lower than a year ago, according to the survey from Rightmove.

The monthly survey revealed that the average asking price for a house fell to £227,438 this month, down from £229,816 in August.

It is the fourth monthly fall in a row however the annual rate of decline has eased from the 4.8% drop in August.
