HCA buys Bristol hospital site

The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has acquired Blackberry Hill Hospital from North Bristol NHS Trust and plans to turn it into a residential scheme.

The national housing and regeneration agency plans to turn the former hospital in Fishponds, Bristol into 350 new homes, shops and offices as part of a regeneration project.

Most of the 21 acre site had become unused due to relocations of services. However the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust will continue to offer health care services from its facility adjacent to the Blackberry Hill site.
