HBG to start Bristol museum E-mail
Wednesday, 02 January 2008

Work on the new £25m Museum of Bristol will get under way next week.

Contractor HBG begins the major project to transform the landmark transit sheds on Princes Wharf, which formerly housed the Industrial Museum, on Monday.

When finished, it will be full of memories of the old industrial museum and the city's history.

The work will see the 1950s sheds restored and turned into what Bristol City Council spokeswoman Sarah Reddiford described as "a dramatic new building".

The project will contribute to the regeneration of the dockside, which will continue to be redeveloped over the next few years.
