London Mayor Boris Johnson yesterday approved three significant planning proposals for Canary Wharf.
Johnson approved the £500m Foster + Partners-designed Crossrail station at Canary Wharf. Also given the go ahead was Wood Wharf, a new office complex which is being developed by Ballymore, Canary Wharf Group and British Waterways. It will also see 1,700 apartments built. Canary Wharf Group's 27-storey 150-room hotel, dubbed Newfoundland, was also granted consent. The development will also provide shops, restaurants and learning training facilities. |
