Gatwick bids in today
Monday, 19 January 2009
Bids for the sale of Gatwick Airport in Sussex are due to be submitted to BAA today.

Bidders are believed to include Deutsche Bank with Babcock & Brown, Manchester Airport Group, Citigroup, London City Airport owner Global Infrastructure Partners and a consortium of North American pension funds.

BAA announced it would sell Gatwick in September last year, following an investigation from the Competition Commission which essentially told the operator it needed to divest itself from a number of airports.

The operator is believed to be preparing a legal challenge to the ruling.
