A competition has been launched to select a private developer for the next development stage of Gartcosh Business Interchange. Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire is working in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council on the multi-million pound project at Gartcosh, which aims to provide thousands of acres of new business space with the potential to create 4000 new jobs. The ambitious project, on the site of the former Gartcosh Steel Mill, is seen as a model for a greener Scotland, with sustainability at the heart of its development. To date more than £20 million has been invested in the site in terms of land reclamation, development and transport upgrades. Developers are now invited to express an interest to deliver the next stage of the project through the acquisition and development of a 13.70 hectare site of the business park. All developers will be expected to base their proposals on the principles of sustainability and quality. Pamela Woodburn, executive director, Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire, said: This is an excellent opportunity for developers to participate in a project which aims to create Scotland’s leading sustainable business location. Interested developers should contact Heery International Ltd to request a prospectus and questionnaire to enable them to express an interest in this major development opportunity. Completed questionnaires must be returned no later than 12.00 pm on Thursday 6 December 2007. |
