Four construction firms have bid for the £400m Lee Tunnel contract for Thames Water in east London.
The firms are: * FCC * Laing O'Rourke / Impregilo * Morgan Est / Vinci / Bachy * Murphy / Hochtief The contract involves building a 7km tunnel from Abbey Mills pumping station in Stratford, east London, to Beckton Sewage Treatment Works. Subject to planning approval, construction of the Lee Tunnel is due to begin later this year with completion in 2014. A vigorous assessment programme will now be carried out to shortlist bidders. |
