Firefighters are battling a fire in a Manchester city centre refurb scheme.
Two buildings are understood to be on fire in the city centre. Firefighters were called earlier this morning to attend a blaze in a former warehouse near to Piccadilly railway station. The fire has spread throughout the six storey building on Dale Street, which was surrounded by scaffolding. It is believed contractors were converting the building into apartments.
The fire is currently raging across two adjacent buildings. Fire chiefs have recommended one of the buildings may have to be demolished. |
