The plan involves the creation of a new runway and an expanded airport terminal

Jobs at the airport are expected to rise  from 1,400 to 3,550 by 2030.

It is anticipated that passenger numbers will increase to 1.9 million by 2015 and 3.4 million by 2030 in line with expected route expansion to other parts of the UK, Europe and North America.

The plan anticipates the airport's local economic contribution rising from £105m to £264m over the period. The Draft Master Plan is open for public consultation for three months.
