Ennstone today said it has bought Scottish plants from Cemex and Tarmac.

The company’s Scottish subsidiary, Ennstone Thistle, has just bought five concrete plants from Cemex UK. This adds to last month’s acquisition of two concrete plants in Fife from Tarmac.

Ennstone spent £1.8m on the acquisitions. The new additions mean Ennstone Thistle now has 20 concrete plants.

Ennstone chairman Vaughan McLeod said: “These are great acquisitions for Ennstone Thistle as they enhance our route to market for our high quality aggregates in Scotland via our strategy to develop additional ready mix concrete capacity and geographical coverage.”
