A US door manufacturer has announced plans to cease production in South Wales with the loss of 150 jobs.

Therma-Tru has entered into a 90-day consultation period with a view to the closure of its UK business.

The decision will affect 85 factory workers at its plant in Nantgarw, near Caerphilly, and a further 69 staff, sales, field installation, and management positions.

Therma-Tru UK manufactures, assembles and installs entry door systems for the UK social housing sector. It is based at a 52,000 sq ft manufacturing facility at Parc Nantgarw.
