US business tycoon Donald Trump has announced he will fly to Scotland next week to give evidence at a public enquiry over his plans to build a £1bn golf resort.

Scottish ministers ordered the Public Local Inquiry after Aberdeenshire Council rejected plans for the golf resort and five-star luxury hotel on Menie Estate as reported by B&E online.

While the scheme has been criticised by environmental groups and local campaigners, many leading business figures have pledged their support.
