Thousands of carpenters, bricklayers, painters, joiners and labourers employed by local authorities have voted to strike in a row over pay.
Members of the construction workers union Ucatt in England and Wales voted 60% in favour of industrial action in protest at a 2.45% wage offer. Alan Ritchie, general secretary of UCATT said: "Our members have signalled their unhappiness with the 2.45% pay offer." |
