Costain has signed a £40m deal to build three new primary schools in Bradford.
The deal is a collaboration with Bradford Metropolitan District Council and the Integrated Bradford Local Education Partnership, as part of the Government's Building Schools for the Future programme. Construction will be by a 50:50 joint venture between Costain and Ferrovial Agroman. The schools form part of Phase 2 of Bradford's BSF programme which focuses on 'inclusion' through the collocation of special schools within the mainstream education system. Work has already commenced under 'early works' agreements with completion scheduled for 2009/2010. Costain chief executive Andrew Wyllie said: "We are delighted to be awarded the next phase of this exciting BSF contract. Education is an important sector for Costain and this award reinforces our strategy to focus on repeat order work with key customers." |
