Steel giant Corus plans to cut 400 jobs at its distribution division because of the economic downturn.
Corus owned by India's Tata Steel said it will start an immediate consultation with workers and would try to achieve the job losses through voluntary redundancy. The distribution side of the business employs 2,400 workers at 36 sites in the UK and Ireland. The proposed redundancies will be spread throughout its distribution business. |
