Avenco has two principal operating companies, Locks and Hardware and Balmar. The companies supply products in the Republic of Ireland and are the exclusive suppliers of Heywood Williams' Carlisle Brass Group products.

Balmar, established in 1970, is an architectural ironmonger supplying builders, developers and contractors of residential, leisure and commercial property, with a focus on Dublin.

Locks and Hardware, established in 2000, supplies a similar range of products to builders' merchants, architectural ironmongers and the pre-hung door manufacturers across Ireland. The largest single supplier to the business is the Carlisle Brass Group, which Heywood Williams acquired in 2006, representing
approximately 60% of product purchases in 2006.
