Chester scheme not yet dead E-mail

Chester's £450m Northgate redevelopment may still go ahead.

The 450,000 sq ft retail scheme was being brought forward by Ing Real Estate before halting as a result of the economic decline.

However, the Dutch developer has  confirmed its commitment to the scheme and is looking for funding partners.

Sources within Chester City Council says a series of recent meetings between councilors and developer saw Ing give assurances that it was keen to proceed with the scheme.
