Work on Chester’s ambitious £460m Northgate regeneration scheme will not start until 2012 at the earliest.
Building work was due to start this year, but joint venture partners ING Real Estate and Chester City Council say global economic conditions has now made this impossible. The scheme, as proposed covers 420,000 sq ft and includes a department store, shopping streets, market, theatre and apartments. ING Real Estate is now thought to be looking for a development partner to share the risk. |
