Network Rail has, today lifted Carillion Rail's suspension.

The ban was imposed in August of last year following concerns of a deteriorating workforce safety record. A recent detailed workforce safety audit at Carllion Rail's operation and an improving workforce safety record has led to the lifting of the ban.

Following this news, Carillion today won a five-year framework agreement estimated to be worth up to £60m to undertake signalling work for Network Rail.

Carillion Rail will renew signaling, which will include alterations, enhancements, safety improvements, small renewal projects and life-extension schemes in the South East area.
