Bovis Bristol scheme agreed
Monday, 12 November 2007

South Gloucestershire County Council have given agreement to Bovis Homes for a major scheme at North Field, Filton Airfield, Bristol.

This agreement, in the form of a resolution to grant consent, is a major step forward in the achievement of a major scheme for 2,200 new homes in North Bristol, which will feature the ancillary creation of new business and employment opportunities and the improvement of educational, community and recreational facilities, as well as contributing to the regeneration of its local neighbourhood.

The scheme also provides for a substantial contribution to the stock of affordable housing in the area and for dedicated bus and pedestrian links.

The group now anticipates that the section 106 agreement will be signed, and outline planning consent issued, before the end of the year, with a start on site for its infrastructure commitments during the first half of 2008, and with commencement of first phase housing development during that year.
