Big Picture Developments has submitted plans for a £90m mixed-use development near Belfast city centre. Known as The Lighthouse, the new scheme, which Big Picture Developments says will create a northern gateway to the city centre, includes 180,000 sq ft of high quality office space, 150 apartments, retail and leisure facilities and car parking. It is bounded by Great St George’s Street and Nelson Street, close to the main city centre slip roads of the M2 and M3 motorways. The site is designated as a development opportunity site in the new draft Belfast Metropolitan Area Plan and lies within the Laganside and North Docks character area.
