Detailed plans for the regeneration of the former Belmont Hospital in Tiverton, Devon will be unveiled to the public next week. Tiverton-based house builder Devonshire Homes and the national regeneration agency, English Partnerships will display the plans on the evening of Monday 16 June. The redevelopment of the site, which will include a mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom properties is part of the Hospital Sites Programme, a nationwide programme to bring a portfolio of 96 redundant hospital sites back into productive use. Belmont Hospital is one of two sites Devonshire Homes were selected to redevelop by English Partnerships following a formal bidding process. The other site is that of the former Tiverton and District Hospital site where preliminary design work is due to commence later this year.
Steve Russell, land and planning manager for Devonshire Homes said: It is understood that a final application for the site's redevelopment will be lodged at the end of July. Devonshire Homes hopes to then start work in January 2009, subject to the final plans being approved. |
