Asda gets green light for Telford store
Friday, 08 January 2010
Asda has been given the go ahead to build a new store on the site of Telford & Wrekin Council's civic offices in Telford, Shropshire.

The supermarket giant was granted full planning permission to build a 4,087 sq m store with a 500 space car park and a petrol filling station.

An objection by joint venture Hark Apollo had seen the decision deferred in December, but construction work has now been given the go-ahead by the council’s planning board.

The new store will replace Asda’s existing store in Telford Shopping Centre and is expected to open in 2014.

Telford & Wrekin Council also granted outline planning consent for 79 new homes to be built on a site next to the Asda store.
