Coin Street Community Builders, which runs Gabriel's Wharf and redeveloped the Oxo Tower plans to build a 43storey tower on a site between Waterloo Bridge and the Oxo Tower.

Doon Street tower would contain 282 flats, a leisure centre and swimming pool.

The plans have attracted criticism forcing a public inquiry - which took place in the spring.

Critics have said the location of Doon Street is inappropriately located and will have a huge impact on London-wide views. In addition to this, none of the flats are affordable homes, with prices ranging from £320,000 to £575,000.

London mayor Boris Johnson has decided not to object to the plans despite recently giving an election pledge to protect London's historic skyline from tall buildings.
