British energy company Scottish and Southern Energy has teamed up with RWE and two Norwegian companies to bid to develop UK offshore wind farms.
Scottish and Southern Energy said its Aitricity subsidiary has joined a consortium comprising RWE subsidiary RWE npower renewables, Statkraft and StatoilHydro The consortium, called Forewind, will bid for wind farm rights in round three of the Crown Estate’s auction. “The co-operation will leverage the companies' complementary skills and capabilities in preparing applications and, in the case of being awarded one or more Zone Development Agreements, in the development, construction and operation of Round 3 wind farms,” SSE said. |
