Environment Secretary Hilary Benn has announced that Sir Michael Pitt, Chair of the South West Strategic Health Authority, will lead the review into the recent UK floods. The oddly named "Lessons Learned Review" will be carried out by the Cabinet Office with support from Defra and the Department for Communities and Local Government. It will examine both how to reduce the risk and impact of floods, and the emergency response to the floods in June and July. The review will also seek views from those involved in the floods, including affected residents, the emergency services, business and professional associations. |
