The Banks Group has unveiled multi-million-pound plans to build a 5,000-home eco-town on 800 acres of land in the former mining village of Cambois. The scheme takes in the site of the former Vald Birn iron foundry which closed last year with the loss of 157 jobs.

 
Carbon trading threatens construction products manufacturers E-mail

Manufacturers of heavyside construction materials will lose out to non-EU countries under plans to cut CO2 emissions. Production of cement steel and aluminium were identified as under threat from other countries in a study by the Carbon Trust.
