British Energy says it has made good progress on repairs to its four reactors at Hartlepool and Heysham.
The company said current plans with regard to Hartlepool and Heysham are to return two reactors to service by the end of this year. Nuclear output in the six months to 28 September was down on the corresponding period of last year, from 27.8 terawatt hours (TWh) to 19.2 (TWh) largely because of the continuing impact of the Boiler Closre Unit outage at Hartlepool and Heysham 1. There is scope for improved performance in the second half as the company expects to return five reactors in total to service by the end of this year. |
