Green hotel for Staffordshire E-mail

A £1m project to build a sustainable hotel in Staffordshire has got underway.

The Premier Inn Tamworth hotel will aim to use 80% less energy than a normal hotel and will trial a number of green technologies.

The hotel will produce enough solar power to heat 1,000 baths a year, and will feature ground source heat pumps, grey water recycling, thermal and acoustic insulation and motion sensor LED lighting.

Building firm Carter Lauren has now started work on the hotel, which is expected to be completed in December.
