Wolseley has won a contract worth £5m per year to service Tesco supermarkets across the country.

The distributor of plumbing and heating products, also a major supplier of construction materials, is now supplying the spare parts and building materials required for response repair and maintenance work for Tesco’s 2,000-plus UK stores. The supplies are predominantly distributed via a dedicated Parts Center branch set up inside Wolseley’s National Distribution Centre (NDC) in Leamington Spa, and supported via the company’s nationwide branch network.

A number of Wolseley brands are already involved in servicing Tesco. Products currently being supplied include catering and bakery spare parts from Parts Center, electrical products including lighting from Electric Center and hired access equipment and toilets from Brandon Hire.

Sean Collins, Wolseley’s contracts team director – Lightside division, said: “We are delighted to be working with this high profile company. This contract win demonstrates our ability to supply the high volume of varied materials and products required by a leading supermarket through our established national supply chain.

“As well as being able to source and supply all products as required due to Wolseley’s range of businesses, we are also able to deliver cost efficiencies through the specification of appropriate products.”
