| Network rail appoints Turner & Townsend |

Construction consultant Turner & Townsend has been awarded a major new contract to provide a range of services across Network Rail’s entire network. Working on Network Rail’s new professional services 100 framework, Turner & Townsend is one of a panel of consultants who will supply consultancy services relating to the client’s assets “from London to Scotland” for the next four years. Network Rail’s Capital Expenditure Programme is estimated to be around £7.5bn per annum - or £30bn over the duration of the contract. Turner & Townsend will work on all aspects of the Network Rail’s infrastructure including track, electrification and power, enhancement and regeneration, civil work and estates. As part of the contract, Turner & Townsend will also act as consultants on major programmes such as Thameslink, King’s Cross, Cross Rail and GSMR. Patricia Moore, a director and head of Rail at Turner & Townsend, said: “We enjoy a strong relationship with Network Rail and have demonstrated the value we have brought to its business over a number of years. We also have vast experience of working across all asset categories. This contract is recognition of the understanding and expertise we provide.”
Turner & Townsend has provided consultancy services on a number of major rail projects including various Network Rail schemes, BAA’s Heathrow Express Link and the new Crossrail Schemes in London and Glasgow. The company has successfully managed over £2.5bn of investments within the last year and more than £4bn of transport related infrastructure projects over the last 5 years. |
