NCP has been selected as Bolton Council’s preferred partner for building at least three new multi-storey car parks in the town centre. Under the terms of the 35year contract, which will be finalised later this year, NCP would be responsible for the design, build, financing and operation of the planned multi-storey car parks, which are a key element in the major regeneration of Bolton town centre. The company which was selected following a detailed procurement process will also be contracted to run and maintain surface level car parks in the town centre, manage on-street pay and display machines and manage the operation of CCTV on all council run car parks in the town centre. It is expected that NCP will undertake design work for the multi-storey car parks with immediate effect. Subject to planning consent being given, the Bath Street and Deane Road car parks, which will each provide 800 spaces, are expected to be completed by late 2009 with the 600space Breightmet Street to follow a year later. Mark Peasnall, business development director at NCP, said: “We are very excited to have been given this opportunity to work with Bolton Council to achieve these plans and look forward to making a significant and direct contribution to the on-going success of the town centre’s regeneration projects.” |
