The contractor will build two new halls consisting of 965 bedrooms and two warden flats at the university’s Whiteknights Campus, as part of a £200m refurbishment and redevelopment programme.

The contract will also see a new catering building and student launderette built as well as the refurbishment of the existing ground floor of Windsor Hall to form new offices.

It comes only a few weeks after Morgan Ashurst was awarded a £10.5m contract to extend and refurbish the Students’ Union building at the University of Leicester.

Work is due to complete in September 2010.
