Morgan Sindall’s construction arm Morgan Ashurst has won a £49.3m contract to build new student halls of residence at the University of Reading.
The contractor will build two new halls consisting of 965 bedrooms and two warden flats at the university’s Whiteknights Campus, as part of a £200m refurbishment and redevelopment programme. The contract will also see a new catering building and student launderette built as well as the refurbishment of the existing ground floor of Windsor Hall to form new offices. It comes only a few weeks after Morgan Ashurst was awarded a £10.5m contract to extend and refurbish the Students’ Union building at the University of Leicester. Work is due to complete in September 2010. |
