Friday, 04 July 2008

Construction company Mansell has won the contract to build the new £32m Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth.

The development from Morpeth II, the joint venture company of Yorkshire based Dransfield Properties and Ethel Austin Properties will transform a run down shopping centre in the North East market town into a landmark Edwardian style shopping mall.

Sanderson Arcade will house 85,000 sq ft of purpose built retail space within an arcade as well as a landscaped piazza area and an extension to the existing Morrisons store.

The plans also include a brand new bus interchange, 17,000 sq ft of office space and
further car parking.

It is thought Mansall will begin work on July 21st.
