Keith Williams Architects has been chosen to design the £25m performing arts theatre in Canterbury.

Following permission from the city council, the Marlowe Theatre will hold a 1,200-seat auditorium, foyers, restaurants and bars. It will sit alongside a new riverside walk and public square.

The construction period is expected to last from 2009 to mid-2011, and is dependent on a further £6m being raised through a public appeal.
