Monday, 04 June 2007

Jarvis today took a £7m hit when it terminated four schools contracts.

The company ended facilities management contracts on schools in the North West of England.

Jarvis subsidiary Jarvis Accommodation Services signed an agreement with Secondary Market Infrastructure Fund to end contracts that relate to its former PFI operations.

The company said the move will cost the firm £7m, which will eliminate approximately £3m annual losses.

Steven Norris, Jarvis chairman, said: “I am delighted that we have achieved Commercial Agreement with Secondary Market Infrastructure Fund in respect of these four contracts, three of which were loss making. The transaction completes a further strategic element in the turnaround of Jarvis and the disposal of these contracts will enhance the performance of our remaining facilities management business going forward.”
