ISG Jackson wins £6.6m contract

Ipswich based ISG Jackson, has won a £6.6million project at Homerton University Hospital in Hackney, East London.

The contract will involve upgrading the hospital's existing delivery and neonatal facilities and construction of a two-storey extension to house a new delivery suite.

ISG Jackson will alter and remodel existing accommodation across the perinatal unit, which remains in operation throughout the 86 week project.

The new concrete-frame extension building will be linked to the hospital via two steel walkways and features under croft car parking and a large birthing pool, which will be relocated from the main building during an earlier works.

The scheme, for client Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, is set for completion by spring 2011, with work expected to commence in the next few weeks.
