Gleeds yesterday said it has won an £18.5m contract to work with Capita Symonds, to build a science laboratory in Oxfordshire. The laboratory will become one of the leading research centres of its type worldwide. As quantity surveyor, Gleeds will work on the 30-month contract to deliver the facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory at Chilton, Oxfordshire. Gleeds will use its specialist cost engineering group to look after the mechanical and engineering side of the project, while Capita Symonds will project manage the scheme. that will be due for completion in three years.
Gleeds partner Martin Smalley: “We are currently working with Capita on other similar projects, and that this is another fantastic scheme with an international profile. The research facility will provide office, admin and laboratories for some of the worlds most gifted scientists.” |
