Galliford Try, as part of the gbprimarycare consortium with Assura Property, has achieved financial close on a £100m, 25-year framework partnering agreement for construction services with South East Essex LIFT.

The first tranche of the long-term framework is estimated to be worth £26m with the potential to fund and develop up to £100m of health and social care facilities across the South East Essex region.

The first project is an £8.3m state-of-the-art primary care centre on Canvey Island which is due to become operational in November 2008.

Galliford Try is now delivering five LIFT schemes across the country from the South East to the North West of England.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try said: "The financial close of South East Essex underlines Galliford Try's commitment to effective public private partnerships in the health and education sectors across the UK.

"As one of the leading players in this market we are delighted to be working with Partnerships for Health and the South East Essex Primary Care Trusts together with our consortium partners, Assura, to deliver improved health facilities in the area."
