Costain has been awarded a £10m design and construct project from Thames Water Utilities.

The project involves addressing deteriorating raw water quality supplied to Farmoor WTW and to increase pumping capacity of water into supply. Waste water for both Farmoor and Swinford sites is processed at a combined sludge plant at Farmoor, which is to be upgraded to deal with full waste flows.

Work on the project is due to start on site sometime next month with substantial completion planned for March 2009.
