Carillion has landed the £57m contract to build student accommodation for Aston University.
The contract is one of two educational contracts, worth a combined £99m, which have been announced by the company. It has been appointed preferred bidder for the £42m Basildon Academies contract by Essex County Council. This project involves refurbishment and new build work for two federated secondary schools. Commenting, Carillion chief executive, John McDonough, said: "Education is an important growth area for Carillion and we have established a leading position in this market, particularly in the Building Schools for the Future programme, which includes the new Academies." |
