The Monteray joint venture, of which support services and construction company Carillion is the majority shareholder, has secured a new facilities management contract with BT worth in excess of £500m. The six-year, total facilities management contract, which runs until April 2014, will be operated jointly by the Monteray shareholders, Carillion, Haden Building Management and Reliance Integrated Services. It entails the provision of services to BT’s 7,000 buildings and 100,000 staff located throughout Britain. The contract, which has an option to be extended for a further four years, includes the opportunity for the joint venture to provide additional variable services worth up to £30m a year. John McDonough, Carillion’s chief executive said: “We are delighted to have won this new contract for BT with whom we have developed an excellent relationship. This reinforces Carillion’s position as a leading provider of total facilities management solutions for major property estates.” Carillion has a 51% equity interest in the Monteray joint venture, with the remaining 49% shared equally between Haden Building Management, a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty, and Reliance Integrated Services. |
