Balfour Beatty JV takes Hong Kong job

Balfour Beatty’s joint venture company in South East Asia, Gammon Construction, has been awarded a £120m contract for the redevelopment of the Hennessy Centre in Hong Kong.

The contract has been awarded by Hysan Development Company.

Gammon Construction will build a 36-storey mixed retail and office development including a four-level car park and retail basement in the Causeway Bay district of Hong Kong.

Work is scheduled to complete in 2011.

Gammon Construction is a 50/50 joint venture between Balfour Beatty and Asian trading and manufacturing group Jardine Matheson.
