Amec has won a major contract from British Energy for engineering and project management services on three of its fleet of nuclear power plants in the UK.
The five-year contract, the value of which is not being disclosed, carries an option for a further two years and will see Amec provide project management and engineering services at the two sites at Heysham in the north west of England and at Hartlepool on Teesside. Mike Saunders, president of Amec's nuclear business said: "We are delighted that British Energy has awarded this contract to Amec." "It is both of national interest and good business practice that these stations continue to generate electricity long into the future and we are delighted that the world-class skills in Amec will work to ensure that this is the case, and also allow us to build on our long and successful relationship with British Energy."
