Building material firm Wolseley reported a 77.1% drop in full-year pre-tax profits and said it expects a number of markets in which it operates to deteriorate in the short term.
Despite the poor performance of its housing division, contractor Kier has posted a 12.2% rise in pre-tax profit for the full-year.
It says much for the state of the housing market when a fall of 50% in sales is "in line with expectations".
Timber frame group Stewart Milne Group has announced a 40% decline in pre-tax profits for the year, but describe the results as "solid".
Listed architect SMC Group has turned its fortunes around despite a difficult market.
